Congratulations to our students here at Wilson Elementary on winning our reading competition against the adults! It was a close race, but in the end the students read more minutes and earned more points for their team! Thanks to everyone who participated. Last Wednesday, after our family reading night, we held an assembly to announce the winning team. Also announced were the names of the gift basket winners from the family night!
Addison Cash was our lucky Pawkemon winner this week! She found the Pawkemon on Thursday. Awesome, Addison!
Our 4th and 5th graders participate in a keyboarding class every year. There is a keyboarding competition held, and these are our finalists moving on to the district competition. Way to go, lions!

Savannah Stinson (6th grade) and Mason Walton (5th grade) both made it to the 4th round at the district spelling bee on Saturday. Out of 187 spellers (from grades 4-8) they beat 154 students! They represented our school exceptionally well, and we are proud of them! Go lions!
This Tuesday, March 28th, is our school family night! The theme is basketball and March Madness because we are "mad" about reading! Come to the school from 5:30-7:30pm to enjoy free food (hot dogs, chips, and cookies), fun activities to help with reading at home, a chance to win family gift baskets worth $50-$100, and an opportunity to make free throws for free books! It is sure to be a fun night for all, and we can't wait! Teachers and students are encouraged to wear basketball jerseys/attire on Tuesday to school. See you then!
