Submitted by bj.wright on Wed, 10/03/2012 - 08:36
Adelyn DeGraw just finished making some ice cream.

Students in fifth-grade are learning about physical and chemical changes.  To test some different types of physical and chemical changes, student in Mrs. Litster's class made cake and ice cream in the classroom!  Each student had to follow directions and answer science questions to make the perfect cupcake and bag of ice cream.  As one student said "this is a very yummy science!" The activity was all the more sweet because it took place on October 1, Mrs. Litster's birthday!

Wilson Elemtary third-grade students are learning about the commutative, associative, and identity properties of addition. The teachers have been trying hard to make math fun and engaging. One way the teachers have done this is through hands on learning and using props with a little bit of acting to remember. In the picture Justin Risenmay appears as Captin Identity-he likes himself the way he is, he does not want to change so the only thing you can do is add 0 to him, so he does not change.  He is the hero of the addition world. "Captin Identity is so cool!

Fugitive Gingerbread Men Found at Wilson Elementary

Submitted by bj.wright on Thu, 09/06/2012 - 11:17

Each of the Kindergarten classes was excited to make a gingerbread man
the first week of school. When the classes went to find their finished
treat, they found that their yummy cookie had run away. Over the next
few days they searched around the school and found the library,
computer lab, and met people such as Mr. Ward our Janitor, and Mr.
Fluckiger our principal. After exploring the school over several days,
the lucky students found their treat! What a great way to get to know
their new school.
