New Teacher Spotlight: Joan VanVoorhis

Submitted by cami.chang on

Joan VanVoorhis is our newest speech technician here at Wilson! Ms. VanVoorhis loves salad and pie, and her favorite animals are cats and dogs--as long as they belong to someone else! In her free time, Ms. VanVoorhis enjoys reading the sports section of the Daily Herald. Her dream vacation would be to go to a warm water beach with her children and grandchildren. Speaking of kids, Ms. VanVoorhis has six children, all married. She has 13 grandchildren with one on the way, and they all live in various parts of the U.S. That gives Ms. VanVoorhis a good reason to go visit!

4th Grade Learns about Hunting and Animal Calls

Submitted by cami.chang on

On September 4th, in honor of National Wildlife Day, Mr. Rawlings gave a special presentation to our 4th graders! He loves to hunt, so he taught the students about hunting and the tools they need, like animal calls. He even demonstrated some of the calls for the kids! Mr. Rawlings also told the students some great stories. The 4th graders had a fun time learning from our principal!
