The sixth grade classes at Wilson Elementary recently learned about ancient and modern-day Africa and the daily customs of its people. To enhance their learning experience, Holly Markgraf-Mayne visited each sixth grade class and taught the students some traditional African dance moves that they then combined into a whole dance piece. The students loved talking about Africa and learning the dance, and they had a blast doing it all! It was an enjoyable and memorable experience for the students and teachers alike. Dance is a great way to learn, process, and remember information--it is good for the brain! We are grateful to Mrs. Holly for coming to teach the children how to enjoy dance in all its forms.
