New Teacher Spotlight: Celeste Fisher

Celeste Fisher is one of our new 3rd grade teachers, and we are so excited to have her! Mrs. Fisher has five children, four grandchildren, and another granddaughter coming in February! Mrs. Fisher and her husband just celebrated their 32nd anniversary. Her favorite food is Mexican food, and she loves anything chocolate, especially with nuts, marshmallows, caramel, toffee, etc. added in. Mrs. Fisher enjoys playing the piano and singing. Tiffany Cook is joining our 3rd grade team this year, and she is phenominal! Mrs. Cook has been married for five years, and she and her husband enjoy spending time outdoors. They rock climb, travel, camp, and scuba dive! In fact, her dream vacation would be to go to Cook Islands to go scuba diving. Her favorite food is Korean, and she loves anything sweet for desserts! New Teacher Spotlight: Tamie Taylor

Tamie Taylor has taught 6th grade for four years, and she is excited to now teach 6th grade at Wilson! Mrs. Taylor has been married for 22 years, and she and her husband have five teenagers--two sets of twins with a middle child in between! Her favorite foods are sushi and pizza, and she loves doing anything outdoors. Yoga, traveling, camping, hiking, and animals (especially monkeys) are among her list of favorites in life. Her favorite books are any and all Dr. Seuss books!

New Teacher Spotlight: Zak Nowell

Zak Nowell just finished an internship in Nebo School District and is ready and excited to teach second grade here at Wilson! Mr. Nowell loves steak and potatoes and his wife's coconut cream pie. He enjoys spending time outdoors doing anything and everything! He especially likes hunting, fishing, golfing, and snowboarding. He has been married for four years, and he and his wife love their dog Peanut. Mr. Nowell likes reading books, such as classics like The Odyssey and the series Twice Upon a Time.

New Teacher Spotlight: Melanie Kunz

Melanie Kunz has shifted gears from being Wilson Elementary's computer technician to one of our new first grade teachers! We couldn't be happier for her. Mrs. Kunz has six children: four boys and two girls. They love playing games together! She loves Costa Vida salads and anything chocolate. Her favorite author is Janette Oake, and some of her favorite children's books are The Miraculous Journey of Edward Tulane, Fanny's Dream, and Donovan's Word Jar. Mrs.

Registration Winners

Congratulations to our winners of the raffle and candy jar guessing game from registration on Monday! Miranda Nixon, 1st grader, won the candy jar game by guessing how many pieces of candy were in the jar displayed at registration. Amazingly, she guessed the exact number: 327! Her prize is getting to eat all 327 of the candies! JaNae Pace, mother of students Ethan and Abigail, won the raffle. Her prize is a lovely gift basket to share with her family!

Backpack Giveaway this Saturday!

If you need help with getting the kids ready for back to school this year, please plan on attending our (Tabitha's Way and Utah Food Bank) event at the Veterans Memorial Building (400 N Main St., Spanish Fork) from 10am to 12pm this Saturday, Aug. 6th! We will have free backpacks filled with school supplies, new socks & underwear, and free lunch will be provided for all of the children in attendance, courtesy of the Utah Food Bank. There will be several local businesses available with resources. No one will be turned away!

Open House

School starts Tuesday, August 23rd! We invite you to attend the school open house on Monday, August 22nd, from 2pm to 4pm, to meet your child's teacher, see the classroom, and get information about the school year. We look forward to seeing you there!
