"The Twin Towers" by McKenzie Van Dam

On September 11, 2001, 19 terrorists took control of two U.S. inbound flights and crashed them into the two World Trade Towers located in New York City, USA. This act of terrorism took the lives of 2,996 people, including the lives of those on the planes, at the Pentagon, and the lives of the hijackers.

The terrorists belonged to a group called Al-Queda, which was led by Osama bin Laden. He claimed that the attacks came due to the presence of the U.S. military troops in Saudi Arabia and sanctions against Iraq.

This attack cased many economic effects on the city of Manhattan. Wall Street was closed for a week, flights cancelled.

May we never forget this great tragedy and remember that we must always remember those who gave their life for our freedom and never take for granted where and how we are free to live as we choose.
