Submitted by cami.chang on Thu, 05/26/2016 - 20:56

As the school year draws to a close, we would like to thank all the students, parents, and visitors who helped make this year amazing! It has been an incredible journey, and we have loved seeing our students grow and develop into good, bright people. Have a wonderful summer break, stay safe, and we'll see you in the fall! Go lions!

*A special good luck to our 6th graders who will be moving on to junior high next year. You are ready, and we know you will do great things!*

4th Grade Mountain Man Rendezvous

Submitted by cami.chang on Thu, 05/26/2016 - 20:38

Last  month the 4th grade classes got together for a fun mountain man rendezvous to celebrate what they have learned in Social Studies this year. In preparation for the event, the students earned "beaver pellets" to attend the event, and the experience was worthwhile for all. Activities included arm wrestling, stick pull, food (scones, buffalo chips, and rootbeer), log hammer and nails, and leg wrestling. Enjoy looking at the pictures that captured some of the fun moments from the day!

Kinect Visits Wilson

Submitted by cami.chang on Tue, 05/17/2016 - 16:03

Last Monday the school gathered in the gym to watch the Kinect dance company from BYU. They did a lot of cool  things. It was interesting to see them do all of the cool shapes with their bodies, such as: a dragon, a plane, and a bunch of other things. (Some people tried the plane outside!) There were only two boys out of the team, and one did a backflip. There was some cool music as well as the dances. Everybody in the room thought it was awesome. So it was a good thing to have them at Wilson Elementary School.

Field Day will be on Tuesday, May 24th. The PTA is planning a super fun day for the students at Wilson to thank them for such an amazing year! There will be inflatable toys and carnival games. To make sure this day is successful, we need lots of volunteers. If you are willing and able, please sign up for a time slot to come help with this fun day.

NOVA

Submitted by cami.chang on Mon, 05/16/2016 - 12:55

The NOVA program is a program where 6th grade students can learn important life skills. If the students can complete the program, they have NOVA graduation. The students also get an award at graduation. The NOVA teacher this year was Officer Glenn Carlson (a police officer). At NOVA graduation this year, the K9 unit dogs came, and it was awesome. NOVA is awesome.

6th Grade Hershey Track Meet

Submitted by cami.chang on Wed, 05/11/2016 - 13:12

On Tuesday, April 19th, the 6th graders' Hershey Track Meet took place at Payson High School. Many different schools were in attendance there, including Wilson, Taylor, Park View, and others. Students ran in different races like the 100 meter, 200 meter, 400 meter, 800 meter, and the 1600 meter. Two different field events were available too: the long jump and softball throw. Students from different schools cheered on their friends as they watched them race and often went to the snack shack to buy a snack. Some people even got to see friends that were in a different school!
