Saint Patrick's Day

The day of the Festival of Patrick is a cultural and religious celebration held on March 17, the tradtional death date of St. Patrick, the foremost patron saint of Ireland.

St. Patrick's Day was made an official Christian feast day in the 17th century. The celebrations generally involved public parades and festivals and the wearing of green attire or shamrocks.

Ballet West Visits Wilson

Submitted by cami.chang on

Recently a professional ballet company called Ballet West visited Wilson Elementary to teach and perform for our students. They taught us different ballet terms, positions, dances, and other information about the world of dance and ballet. They performed sections of the Nutcracker ballet, and they wore elaborate costumes to enhance their performance. Thank you, Ballet West, for providing us with such a rich experience!

Submitted by cami.chang on

This week some of Wilson's 4th, 5th, and 6th grade students participated in a "fun shot" basketball competition to see how many shots they could make in 1 minute from 5 different spots on the basketball court. The top 3 boys and girls from each grade got to go the Payson area competition the next night, where Kamika Wesley won 3rd place for the 4th grade boys and Emersea Beddoes won 2nd place for the 5th-6th grade girls! Here are our school winners who moved onto the Payson area. Great job to everyone!
